TPSI IS AN AUTOMATIC TIRE INFLATION SYSTEM (ATIS) THAT MONITORS
TRAILER TIRE PRESSURE AND INFLATES THEM TO OPTIMUM
PRESSURE IN THE EVENT OF AIR LOSS.
The system ensures that tire pressure is always at or above the cold pressure
setting. This is pre-set according to the load and according to the tire
specification. If pressure is lost, the system warns the driver with a warning
light that is mounted on the trailer behind the cab and visible from the driver’s
rear-view mirror.
The air is taken from a service tank of the trailer through a barrier valve. It is
then regulated at the control unit, set to the desired inflation pressure for the
load carried. The air is then distributed via the axle bodies, which act as a properly
pressurized reservoir, to the various tires whether they are stationary or when driving.
The system can power up to 5 axles with single or dual tires.
